Focus of the text is the assessment and pharmacologic treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma. Detailed information on the various medications used is presented, along with a detailed treatment algorithm. Results and clinical implications of landmark glaucoma studies and comparative clinical trials are reviewed, with the importance of 24-hour control of intraocular pressure stressed. Brief chapters also review abnormal cornea, iris, lens, anterior chamber and angle, and the medical management of complications of laser and glaucoma surgery.
