Professional Communications, Inc, is pleased to announced the publication of the new, fifth edition of Antithrombotic Therapy by Drs. Richard Becker, Dan Fintel, and David Green. This new edition has been extensively updated since the publication of last edition in 2006.
Antithrombotic Therapy is a clinically oriented guide to antithrombotic therapy. The book contains a detailed discussion of the pharmacology of various anti-clotting agents, including antithrombins, plasminogen activators, and antiplatelet agents. The clinical application of antithrombotic therapy in both arterial (acute coronary syndromes, acute myocardial infarction, peripheral arterial disease, valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation) and venous disease (venous thromboembolic disease and pulmonary embolism) is presented. In addition, the text contains a synopsis of the results of major clinical trials of antithrombotic therapy.
Two new chapters on platelet function testing and platelet response variability and management paradigms have been added to the new edition.
Richard C. Becker, MD is Professor of Medicine and Director of the Cardiovascular Thrombosis Center at Duke. Dan J. Fintel, MD is Professor of Medicine at the Northwestern and Director of Clinical Education (Cardiology Division) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. David Green, MD, PhD is Professor of Medicine and Director of the Atherosclerosis Program at the Northwestern.
